Find Miramar Residents Methodically
A useful Miramar residents directory search begins by choosing the record that can answer the question. The Broward County Property Appraiser ties an address to a parcel owner. The Supervisor of Elections can confirm a registered voter's public address, while the Broward Clerk links a name to a dated court case. Deeds connect owners across time. City permits connect people and contractors to work at a property, but none of these sources is a complete household list.
Write down each name exactly as shown, plus middle initials, suffixes, dates, parcel numbers, and the role the person held. Miramar has a large foreign-born population, so test compound surnames, omitted accents, maiden names, shortened given names, and initials. A matching name alone is weak. A name, address, date, and related party found in two independent records is far more useful.
- Search the property roll by owner or street address and save the folio, situs address, mailing address, and legal description.
- Check the Broward voter lookup for one person, or request the public voter file when a broader lawful search is needed.
- Use the owner name in Broward Official Records, narrowing the result by document type and date.
- Check court, business, license, and vital-record indexes only when those sources match the question.
- Ask the city, county counter, library, or archives for records that the web portal does not expose.
Miramar Resident Records Custodians
Miramar is not the Broward County seat, so its resident records are split among city, county, and state keepers. City Hall handles municipal minutes, contracts, permits, code material, police requests, and city GIS. County offices in Fort Lauderdale keep the property roll, deeds, voter records, marriage licenses, and trial-court files. Florida agencies maintain vital certificates, corporations, regulated licenses, and unclaimed property. The distinction matters because a request sent to the wrong office will not reach the record.
Online indexes are only one access channel. The recorder offers Search and Copy service for older media, the clerk accepts copy requests, Elections supplies data-request routes, and the city takes requests by its department channels. Call before a counter visit when certification, an archive pull, or a large file is needed.

BCPA Starts Miramar Address Searches
The property appraiser is the best bridge from an address to a name. Its record distinguishes the situs address, meaning the location of the taxed parcel, from the tax-mail address. It also supplies the folio, legal description, sales references, value, and exemptions. Homestead is evidence that an owner claims the property as a permanent home, but it does not identify every resident.
The BCPA search screen is shown below. Search results should be read as ownership evidence, not as proof of who sleeps at the address today.

The parcel card supplies the name and folio needed for the next step in Official Records.
| Search field | Best use |
|---|---|
| Owner name | Find parcels held by a person or entity |
| Address | Resolve one street location |
| Folio | Open one exact parcel |
| Subdivision or legal description | Follow older plats and boundary clues |
Miramar Deeds Need an Owner
Broward deeds are indexed chiefly by party name. An address alone may not start the search. Carry the owner name, folio, deed reference, or legal description from BCPA into Broward Official Records. Search the owner as grantee to find an acquisition deed, then read the image for the grantor, instrument number, book and page, dates, and legal description. That grantor can become the next name in a backward chain.
Full party-name searching begins July 7, 1977. Limited instrument, book, and date access covers March 9, 1972 through that cutoff. Earlier material requires the county's Search and Copy service. Ownership documents reach 1883, and the county reports other media back to 1871. All plats and maps remain searchable regardless of record date, which can bridge a modern parcel to an older book-and-page trail.
Insider tip. Start with BCPA, not the deed portal, whenever the only firm fact is a Miramar street address.
Current Miramar Residents Directory Sources
No city-issued roster lists every Miramar household. Current directory evidence comes from records created for separate public duties. Each source proves a narrower fact and has its own update cycle. Compare the date and role before combining records.
| Source | Who It Lists | Keeper | Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Property roll | Owners and tax-mail recipients | BCPA | Free portal |
| Voter record | Registered voters | Broward Elections | Personal lookup or paid data request |
| Official Records | Parties to deeds and liens | Broward RTT | Free modern index, counter fallback |
| City records | Officials, applicants, and contractors | Miramar Clerk and Building | Web pages or records request |
| Business and license records | Officers, agents, and licensees | Sunbiz and DBPR | Free state search |
Property, voter, and occupant are three different claims. A trustee may own a parcel, a voter file may lag after a move, and an unregistered adult may appear in neither. For one named person, use the separate Miramar resident lookup workflow and preserve the dates behind each match.
Broward Court Names in Context
The Broward Clerk Public Case Search accepts party name, business name, case number, and citation searches. A result can show the court division, party role, filing date, case status, docket events, and disposition. It returns only the first 200 results, so common names need a narrower date, division, or case number. A docket is the dated list of filings and court events, not the full case file.
The court search interface below is a name index, not a residents roll. Some family, juvenile, victim, sealed, and adoption material is confidential or withheld from electronic access.

Copies can be requested online, by form, or at the clerk counter when a public document is not viewable.
Florida Voter Data Has Limits
Florida treats a voter's name, residence address, date of birth, party affiliation, phone or email when supplied, and participation history as generally public. Ballot choices remain secret. Social Security numbers, driver-license or state-ID numbers, and the registration source are confidential. Protected participants can also have identifying or location information suppressed.
The Broward voter service supports personal verification. A broader street or precinct analysis requires a data request. Each voter-list database search costs $20, a USB adds $6, and files over 10 MB may arrive through Dropbox.

The screen verifies registration evidence, not a full household and never how anyone voted.
Request Miramar City Records
The Miramar City Clerk separates General Public, Fire, Building Department, and Police request routes. A requester does not need a special form or a stated purpose under Florida Public Records Law. Ordinary paper copies cost no more than 15 cents for a one-sided page, with 5 cents added for a two-sided copy. Other media may carry actual costs, and extensive staff or technology work can trigger a reasonable special-service charge after an estimate and deposit.
The city's request page pictured below explains those intake choices. Large requests may take 14 or more business days, so ask for a narrow date range, address, department, and record type.

Phone, mail, inspection, and the correct department route remain useful when a portal search fails.
Miramar Business Name Trails
Sunbiz searches Florida entities by company, officer or registered agent, trademark owner, document number, ZIP, and street address. Results commonly show status, principal and mailing addresses, registered agent, managers or officers, filing dates, annual reports, and image links. A registered agent is the person or service designated to receive legal papers, not proof of residence or ownership.

Match the filing date and listed role before linking a business name to a Miramar address.
DBPR Verify a License adds name, license number, city or county, and license-type searches for regulated fields.

Its status, expiration, profession, and public address fields can confirm a dated identity without proving a present home.
Unclaimed Property Adds a Lead
The free Florida Treasure Hunt search can surface an owner name and reported address connected to unclaimed funds or property. It is best used as a lead for reconnecting with relatives, estate work, or checking one's own property, then verified through the state claim process.

A historical reported address may help separate namesakes, but it should not be treated as a current residence.
Verify Miramar Resident Matches
Common names need a small fact matrix. Put each candidate on a row and compare middle name or initial, suffix, spouse or associate, filing date, parcel legal description, voter date of birth when lawfully available, court role, and business address. Do not merge two people merely because a search result uses the same first and last name. Miramar's 2025 population estimate is 142,570, and 42.4 percent of residents were foreign-born in the 2020-2024 Census measure. Name variants are therefore routine, not an edge case.
Run accented and unaccented spellings, compound and single surnames, maiden and married names, and both full given names and initials. Older directory images often abbreviate names. A Sunbiz filing may omit an accent, while a voter record may preserve a different form. Dates solve many conflicts. The best match shares several facts from two custodians, such as a deed and probate docket, or a parcel and dated permit.
| Claim | Best starting record | Second check |
|---|---|---|
| Owns a parcel | BCPA property card | Recorded deed |
| Registered at an address | Broward voter record | Dated court or business filing |
| Party to a case | Clerk docket | Public document or certified copy |
| Business role | Sunbiz or DBPR | Annual report or license detail |
Miramar Records Can Go Dark
A blank search can be the correct result. Florida birth records younger than 125 years are confidential under section 382.025. Death certificates without cause are generally public, while cause-of-death information is restricted for 50 years. Adoption and much juvenile material are confidential. Court standards may hide electronic documents even when a public copy can be requested at the clerk.
Florida's Attorney General Address Confidentiality Program protects eligible victims of domestic violence and stalking. Other exemptions under section 119.071 can suppress identifying or location details for protected people. The voter file also withholds Social Security numbers, state identification numbers, and registration-source information. These limits are not clues to fill with guesses. Ask the custodian whether a public index, redacted copy, counter inspection, or eligibility-based certificate route exists.
Key distinction. “Not online” can mean counter access, restricted electronic access, or a confidential record. It does not always mean no record exists.
Miramar Residents Records Over Time
Modern Miramar records reflect a city that grew sharply from east to west. Developer Abraham Mailman bought the former dairy farm in 1953, built 56 homes, and the city incorporated on May 26, 1955 with fewer than 200 people and about 2.9 square miles. Its original borders were SW 64th Avenue, University Drive, the Miami-Dade line, and Pembroke Road. Current research recognizes Historic Miramar, Central East, Central West, and West Miramar as distinct official reporting areas.
The date and place change the search. Historic Miramar is more likely to benefit from the public 1950 census, regional directories, and older deeds. Western parcels often yield more from plats, permits, aerials, HOA entity filings, and post-1977 digital deeds. Before Broward County was created in 1915, southern land may appear in Dade records. Before Miramar incorporated, the lack of a “Miramar” city entry is expected.
- For records dated after 1977, begin with modern county indexes and city parcel context.
- For 1972 through mid-1977 deeds, bring an instrument, book, or date to the limited search.
- For older land, use the Search and Copy counter, plats, legal descriptions, and predecessor geography.
- For household evidence, pair directory images with the public federal census through 1950.
Protect Miramar Property Records
Broward's free Recording Notification Service can alert a subscriber when a conveyance or encumbrance is recorded under a selected name. The recorder also offers electronically certified post-1978 Official Records by email. Those services can help an owner monitor filings or obtain a usable certified copy without relying on premium-priced deed-copy letters.
The county warns about private solicitations that sell deed copies at inflated prices. Check the official recorder first. An alert does not block a filing or prove fraud, and a portal image may not satisfy a court or agency that asks for certification. Confirm the instrument with Broward Records, Taxes and Treasury, then report suspected fraud through the appropriate official channel.
Historical Miramar Residents Directory Sources
Miramar began as 56 homes on a former 1,200-acre dairy farm and incorporated in 1955 with fewer than 200 people. A nineteenth-century Miramar directory therefore should not exist. Earlier searches belong in Broward land and census records, predecessor Dade geography, and regional Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, or Miami directories when their coverage reaches the place.
Broward County Library provides Ancestry Library Edition in branches, Fold3, historical newspapers, and NSU e-card resources. The exact Miramar year runs are not published online, so ask the reference desk to check title, publisher, year, and reverse street sections. Broward Digital Archives adds local photographs and documents. The full shelf method appears on the Miramar city directory page.
- Roll
- A list created for a public duty, such as tax or voter administration.
- Index
- A finding aid that points to a record or image.
- Parcel
- A legally described unit of land with its own folio.
- Criss-cross directory
- A directory arranged by street and house number instead of surname.
Use records lawfully. Confirm information with the custodian and never use a Miramar directory search to stalk, harass, or harm a person.
